On October 20, 2018, Valeo Behavioral Health Care will be hosting their second annual fundraiser, titled Unmasking Stigma. Funds will go towards the Valeo Foundation. Hosted, by Melissa, Brunner, WIBW News Anchor, the event is surely going to be a fun way to support a great cause. Jennifer Ayers-Moore will be the National Keynote Speaker, and Matt Pivarnik, CEO of the Greater Topeka Partnership, will be the auctioneer for the Battle of the Masks (a mask auction).
Ayers-Moore’s brother is Nathaniel Ayers, subject for the book and movie adaptation The Soloist. Nathaniel developed schizophrenia while at the Julliard School. The story focuses on his struggle with his classes and with his family. Jennifer founded the Nathaniel Anthony Ayers Foundation, which is currently being revamped to be “more service and family oriented.” It will soon be referred to as the AYERS foundation, and will promote innovation in music and other creative arts.
The event begins with “Appy” hour, featuring signature non-alcoholic drinks and hors d’ouerves, followed by a dinner. Live entertainment includes Valeo’s music therapy group, and other live music. The event is still offering corporate sponsorships, as well as selling tickets. Sponsorships range from $750-10,000 and offer benefits with each sponsorship. Tickets cost $75 each, or $750 to reserve a table. Follow this link to purchase tickets or become an event sponsor.
